College: Cole made his collegiate debut at Pepperdine by tallying 18 digs, one shy of the school record.

Personal: Cole's father, Rick, is the Director of Athletics at Hofstra and a former volleyball player. Cole has two older sisters, both of whom played volleyball in college as liberos. His sister Taylor played at Iona, while his sister Mackenzie played volleyball at Duke, where she was the 24th player in school history to surpass 1,000 career digs after being named the 2017 Gatorade New York Player of the Year. Cole also has a pair of uncles, George Dunn and Richie Dunn, who played soccer at Duke. In high school Cole began playing on the varsity volleyball team as an eighth grader, and set his school's record for both career kills and digs. He was on the 2019 Volleyball Magazine 25 Underclassmen to Watch List and named to the 2020 Volleyball Magazine Boys Fab 50 list.
