College: Jenkinson was a middle blocker at Portland State, where as a freshman she led the conference and was 22nd in the NCAA with 147 blocks. When she graduated she was second in total blocks (463) and fifth in hitting percentage at the school (.265) in the school's D1 history.

Personal: Formerly Katie O'Brien, Jenkinson has one brother, Greg, and one sister, Christine. She lettered four years in basketball and three in volleyball in high school, winning two league titles in each sport.
